CASE STUDY
Large Private Dwelling, Wimbledon – London Construction Company
A wealthy private client employed London Construction Company (the Company) under a JCT D&B form to build a new house in Wimbledon, with an original contract sum of circa £7.5m. The contract was plagued with a litany of client changes, resulting in the current final account rising to circa £11.5m.
Consequently, the contract period has overrun, and a dispute has arisen as to culpability for the delay, as well as the value of the account. Furthermore, despite the client having started to move into the property, the Employer's Agent has attempted to instigate termination of the Company's contract.
MWCS is engaged by the Company to take the matter to adjudication and is currently in the process of producing referral documents.
